Marketing team offsite for 2027: the agenda and ideas

A marketing offsite should do two things: reset the strategy and refill the creative tank. Here is a three-day plan that does both.

Marketing teams spend all year making things for other people. An offsite is the rare chance to step back, look at the work honestly and come home with new ideas, not just a new plan.

Here is how we would shape a three-day marketing offsite for 2027.

The agenda at a glance

  • Three questions, a month out
  • Bring one piece you are proud of, one you would redo

Before you go

Send three questions a month out. What worked this year? What did we keep doing that we should stop? What is the one bet for 2027? Ask each person to bring one piece of work they are proud of and one they would redo.

Day one: arrive and get honest

Land by lunch. In the afternoon, run a brand truth session: how customers actually describe you versus how you describe yourselves. End the day with a long-table dinner and no slides.

Day two: strategy in the morning, creativity after

Morning is for the 2027 plan. The big bets, the budget and how AI is changing the way the team works. Make real decisions and name owners.

The afternoon is for refilling the tank. Get outside. Try an intuition art session, where the team makes something together with no brief and no client, or a brand archetypes workshop that maps your brand voice the way we map a team. Close with a sound bath so the day has somewhere to settle.

Day three: commit and go

Start with a short walk. Then pull it together: three priorities, the campaigns that serve them and who owns what. Leave by mid-afternoon with a one-page plan everyone helped write.

A few ideas that work well for marketing teams

  • A customer panel, in person or on a call, to hear the truth before you plan.
  • A creative sprint with a real deadline and a show-and-tell at dinner.
  • Phone-free hours, so people actually think.
  • A small photo or video budget, so the team leaves with content and memories.

After

Send the one-page plan within 48 hours and check in at 30 days. The ideas only matter if they make it into the calendar.
