Why Malibu
Mountains first, then the ocean.
Most people picture the beach. We start in the Santa Monica Mountains, where canyon trails climb above the Pacific and the city feels far away.
The Ranch Malibu is the heart of it. It is a working ranch of about 200 acres, three miles above the ocean, with 21 cottages and a daily rhythm of long hikes, yoga, massage and plant-forward meals.
Book the whole ranch and your team shares the trails, the barn and every meal. For bigger groups, we pair Malibu days with resorts in the hills nearby.
We bring teams to Malibu when they need to physically reset, not just talk about it.

Why we bring teams here.

Questions
Planning a retreat in Malibu.
How far is Malibu from LAX and the Bay Area?
The Ranch Malibu is about an hour from LAX by car. From San Francisco it is about a 1.5 hour flight to LAX or Burbank, then the drive out Pacific Coast Highway or through the canyons.
When is the best time for a retreat in Malibu?
September through November is warm, dry and quieter. Spring brings wildflowers to the mountains and good hiking weather. Late spring and early summer often start with coastal fog that clears by afternoon.
What size groups fit in Malibu?
A full buyout of The Ranch Malibu fits up to 42 guests in 21 cottages. Larger groups can use Calamigos Ranch or the Four Seasons in Westlake Village, about 30 minutes away.
What can a team do in Malibu?
Hike the Santa Monica Mountains every morning, take yoga and sound bath classes, cook with The Ranch kitchen, and finish the day by the ocean. The Ranch builds team activities and breakout sessions into a buyout.
Who plans and runs the retreat?
The Renewal Office designs it around your goals using the TRO Six Pillars, then handles venue, programming, facilitators and production from the first call to the week after.
