Why San Francisco
A national park inside the city.
The Presidio was an Army post for more than two centuries. Today it is 1,500 acres of national park at the north tip of San Francisco, with forest trails, Crissy Field and the Golden Gate Bridge right there.
You get city access without city noise. Flights land 30 minutes away, and the team still wakes up to eucalyptus, fog horns and a free park shuttle instead of traffic.
Two historic hotels sit on the Main Post and can be bought out together, so the whole campus becomes yours. Meals, sessions and fire pit evenings all happen a short walk apart.
We bring teams to the Presidio when they want a real retreat but cannot ask anyone to travel far.

From the office
Why we bring teams here.
We bring leadership teams and Bay Area companies here when travel time is tight. The Presidio feels like leaving town without a flight.

Questions
Planning a retreat in San Francisco.
How far is the Presidio from SFO and the rest of the city?
SFO is about 30 minutes by car. Downtown and the Ferry Building are about 15 to 20 minutes away, and a free Presidio shuttle connects to downtown.
When is the best time for a retreat in San Francisco?
September and October are the warmest and clearest months. April and May are also good. Summer brings fog from about mid-May through August, so pack layers.
What size groups fit in the Presidio?
The Lodge and Inn together have 68 rooms and can be bought out for up to 200 attendees. The Inn alone fits a team of about 25, and Funston House works for a board or a small leadership group.
What can a team do in the Presidio?
Walk to the Golden Gate Bridge, paddle the bay, take a market tour at the Ferry Building, and meet in historic halls with the park out the window. Strategy sessions, breathwork and fire pit dinners all fit in one campus.
Who plans and runs the retreat?
The Renewal Office designs it around your goals using the TRO Six Pillars, then handles venue, programming, facilitators and production from the first call to the week after.
