Why Joshua Tree
Quiet that makes teams brave.
There is nothing to perform out here. The High Desert strips a team back to the essentials: open land, very little signal and a sky that resets everyone’s sense of scale.
It has drawn artists, musicians and wellness practitioners for decades, and that creative energy is still in the air. Sound baths, breathwork and night skies are part of the place, not an add-on.
Palm Springs sits about an hour away, so a team can pair desert stillness with good hotels, long-table dinners and an easy airport.
We don’t bring teams to Joshua Tree for the photos. We bring them because the quiet makes people say what they actually think.

From the office
Why we bring teams here.
The High Desert is where we take teams that are ready to go deeper than a strategy deck. It pairs naturally with a Palm Springs base.

Questions
Planning a retreat in Joshua Tree.
How far is Joshua Tree from San Francisco?
Fly SFO to Palm Springs (PSP), about an hour, then drive roughly an hour into the High Desert. Most teams arrive by early afternoon.
When is the best time for a retreat in Joshua Tree?
Fall and spring, roughly October through April. Summer days are very hot, and winter nights get cold, which is great for fire pits.
Is Joshua Tree good for large groups?
For small and mid-size teams, yes. For larger groups we often base the retreat in Palm Springs and bring the team into the desert for a day.
What can a team do in Joshua Tree?
Sunrise hikes, breathwork, sound baths, stargazing, desert art and strategy sessions with very few distractions.
Who plans and runs the retreat?
The Renewal Office designs it around your goals using the TRO Six Pillars, then handles venue, programming, facilitators and production from the first call to the week after.
