How to prepare your leadership team before an offsite
The best leadership offsites are half done before anyone gets on a plane.

An executive offsite has one shot to set the year. If leaders show up cold, the first day is spent catching up, and the real conversation never happens.
Here is how to prepare your team before you get there.
Agree on the three questions.
Every leadership offsite should answer a small number of real questions. Where are we going? What are we not doing? What do we need from each other? Send them a month out.
Send a short pre-read.
Two pages, not twenty. Where the business stands, the decisions on the table and the data that matters. Ask every leader to read it and come with a point of view.
Collect the honest version first.
A short anonymous survey before the offsite surfaces what people will not say out loud. Share the themes on day one. It makes the hard conversation easier to start.
Decide what gets decided.
Separate what needs a decision from what needs discussion. Leadership time is expensive. Spend it on choices only this group can make.
Build in quiet.
Strategy needs space to settle. A morning walk, a breathwork session or an evening by the fire is when the real thinking happens. Protect it on the agenda.
Map the Year and Leadership Reset are built around this kind of preparation, so your leaders arrive ready and leave aligned.
